St. Mary's N.S. Enrolment
Parents wishing to enrol their child in Junior Infants will be required to complete an enrolment form (link at bottom of page). The dates for enrolment will be on our Facebook page as well as in the local parish bulletin and in the Donagh News section of the Northern Standard Letters are also sent to parents who already have children attending the school. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to download an enrolment form.
School visit: Parents and new infants are invited to visit the school at the end of August prior to school opening. This is an opportunity to meet their teacher and the other new Infants, see their new classroom and familiarise themselves with their new surroundings.
Decisions in relation to applications for enrolment are made by the Board of Management in accordance with school policy. The Board will notify parents of their decision within 21 days of receiving such information.
As a general principle and in so far as practicable having regard to the school’s enrolment policy, children will be enrolled on application, provided that there is space available.
The Board will have regard for relevant Department of Education and Science guidelines in relation to class size and staffing provisions and/or any other relevant requirements concerning accommodation, including physical space and the health and welfare of children.
Pupils Transferring:
Pupils may transfer to the school at any time subject to school policy, available space and in some cases the approval of the Department of Education and Science. Information concerning attendance and the child’s educational progress must be communicated between schools
Children enrolled in our school are required to co-operate with and support the School Code of Behaviour as well as all other policies on curriculum, organisation and management. The Board of Management places parents responsible for ensuring that their child co-operate with said policies in an age-appropriate way.
