Glaslough Tidy Towns Poster Competition 2016
Glaslough Tidy Towns’ Poster Competition is an eagerly awaited event in our school every year. All pupils from Infants to Sixth are invited to participate and use their knowledge of Green School issues to educate the wider public.
This year’s theme was B is for Biodiversity: Birds, Bees and Butterflies .

The Oakland Centre looked amazing as the pupils took their seats. All their wonderful posters decorated the walls. Louise Duffy welcomed all present and thanked the children for their creative and colourful posters. Next Gareth Corrigan announced the lucky winners in each class and Claire Cunningham presented the prizes.
Congratulations to the lucky winners and to all the pupils for your marvellous posters. They are truly inspirational.
Our thanks to these hard-working members of Glaslough Tidy Towns Committee for preparing the centre, displaying the posters, purchasing and wrapping the fantastic presents and providing the delightful refreshments. We're already looking forward to next year's Award Ceremony!

The theme of this year`s competition was "Sustainable Waste and Resources Management". In simpler term "re-think waste"!
Pupils from St. Mary`s N.S. and Billis N.S. were invited to participate again this year. Great imagination and creativity ensured a very high standard of entries.
Pupils assembled at the Oakland Recreational Centre on Monday, 19th May. Niall O`Connor, Educational Environment Officer with Monaghan County Council addressed the two schools and praised the effort and ingenuity required to create such clever, inspiring and colourful posters. Gareth Corrigan announced the lucky winners before delicious refreshments were served.
