School Tour to Bragan Bog in 2014
This year, Third and Fourth Class went on school tour to Sliabh Beagh, an area of wild and natural beauty in North Monaghan.
It was an opportunity to explore this unique habitat and special area of conservation as part of their Green Schools` study on Biodiversity.

- Pond Dipping
- Water Testing
- Examination of sphagnum moss, the bog builder
- Identifying peatland plants and flowers
- Bird Watching
- Turf Cutting
- Discovering the preservative powers of peat

After all the activities and fresh air, everybody had worked up an appetite and were ready to tuck into lunch at the Sliabh Beagh Tourism Centre. A great and memorable day was had by all.
